Veterans Benefits

The VA pension is a benefit that’s available to any veteran or spouse of a veteran who served on active duty in the military for at least 90 days with at least one day during a time of conflict. In addition to the service requirements, a veteran must be age 65 or older and meet a means test.

This benefit is ideally suited for veterans that are:

  • Low income. This doesn’t necessarily mean you’re broke. It could mean that your net income is low due to high out-of-pocket medical expenses.
  • A housebound veteran or spouse.
  • A veteran or spouse in a nursing home.

There is also a means test that looks at a veteran’s family income and assets. Many veterans falsely assume that they will not qualify.

Larry Martin is a retired Army lieutenant colonel with over 20 years active duty service. He is well-versed in the VA pension. You can call the VA directly or call us. Larry will be honored to sit down with you to review your situation. There is no charge for this service.
